Bonné Reviews Txakoli
Txakoli, pronounced CHAC-o-lee, is a very unusual wine in my book. It’s dry, usually a white wine, high in acidity, but low in alcohol content.
Wine Editor, Jon Bonné of The San Francisco Chronicle has just written a wonderful review in Bonné Reviews Txakoli, Basque wine Txakoli flirts with fame.
“Just a few years ago, Txakoli was an obscure curiosity. A straightforward wine, typically white and slightly fizzy, it was served in low tumblers, often poured from a great height,” says Bonné.
For me, being slightly bubbly is what makes this wine very unusual. It’s differently a standout, but the slight spritz can make it a hit for some wine lovers and a miss for others.
